This is a special workshop for members of the Wood River Fly Club in Rhode Island to be held starting at 9:00am on Saturday 5/21/2011 at Rivers and Riptide Anglers at 2435 Nooseneck Hill Road, Unit 4A, Coventry, RI.
The Workshop includes your selected Reel Kit, supplies, tools and instruction. Prepare to spend 3 (sometimes slightly more) hours to complete your reel. Reelsmith Michael Hackney will make a short presentation on a bit of reel history and an overview of the tools and techniques used in the workshop.
About the Reels
The participants in this workshop will have their choice between either a regular frame or raised pillar frame brass and black Delrin reel as shown in the photos. The reel includes a click check but can be assembled with a silent friction check. A suede reel case is also included.
Here is a photo of a recent workshop offered at the Catskills Fly Fishing Center and Museum in September, 2010.
