I designed this 3" long trout to give out at fly fishing events when I demo 3D printing. But why should I have all the fun! Print your own with this free STL file. Use them for key chains, Christmas Tree ornaments or just to play with. Make a rainbow of trout! I suppose you could attach some hooks and use them as lures too.
Printing Tips
You can print these solid but to get the open effect like the trout in the photo, set the top and bottom layer thickness in your slicing software to "0". For KISSlicer, this is called "Skin Thickness". Then, pick an interesting infill pattern. 20% to 40% looks best. I use 4 perimeters to make sure the profile is strong.

These were great to print out, and are a very neat concept. I enjoyed the size and speed through which these printed. A very unique way to showcase ones enthusiasm for trout and fly fishing, in a medium that is likely unfamiliar to the vast majority of fly fishers.

I printed a solid one with PLA on normal settings and 20% infill and it turned out great.

Thank you but given that this was free and that your comment says it turned out great and the title is Works Well, what compelled you to give it 4 out of 5 stars? Makes no sense to me.
