I posted some minor tweaks to my reel design last night. These included:

closer tolerances on the spool spindle for a better fit

closer tolerances on the handle spindle for a better fit

hidden click check pocket

minor tweaks to handle and spool plates to improve slicing

tapered spool retainer to improve fit

I also completely overhauled the assembly instructions. They are now a nicely formatted PDF file with photos. From this point forward, each revision will clearly state the revision number and date and an entry will be made to the change log in the instructions.

I've now automated the process for folks to download their own FREE copy of the files. Simply browse to the 3D Printed Reel Plans Product Page and add the FREE drawings to your cart and check out. You do not need to use a credit card, this is simply to make it easier for me and faster for you to get the drawings. You will also be able to download new updates in the future if you create an account for yourself (you can always download them as a guest too).

I just completed making the newest batch of Personal Furling Machines (we make them in groups of 8). Here's a photo of 6 of the siblings (the other two were packed and shipped before I got the camera out!)

Three are still available from this batch so get one while you can. Machines come with mounting hardware and can be setup for end of furling board mounting (as shown) or reversed to attach to a handheld cradle. If you'l like yours setup for a cradle just leave a comment on your order and I'll reverse it for you. You can also reverse it yourself.
