Tenkara Flies

The Eclectic Angler is pleased to offer our tenkara flies a la carte! These are the same flies we offer in our Tenkara Fly Set but available individually for $2.25 each. These individual flies do not come with a fly box.

Tenkara is a simple form of Japanese fly fishing that offers a unique alternative to today's high-tech equipment. The flies are also simple, but very effective. Many tenkara entusiasts (including us) fish with a single fly pattern. This pattern is the one used by tenkara expert Dr. Ishigaki from Japan and tied as he demonstrated at the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum in May of 2009.

The flies are available in four colors and three sizes (12, 14, 16 hooks). The color choices are:

• red body, grizzly hackle (our personal favorite!)
• olive body, grizzly hackle
• cream body, barred ginger hackle
• all black

All flies are tied on barbless Tiemco 100 hooks with Whitting hackle. Order 1 or order 100 for one low shipping price.
