Version 2.0 Silent Check Reel Kits have the same "short pillar" construction as our Click Check Reel Kits. The short pillars are 1/8" long and separate the back frame plate and back frame ring, creating a pocket for the check mechanism. The updated silent check kit includes a new Delrin™ silent check disk designed to improve performance and simplify construction.

Our Silent Check Reel Kits use a trouble-free friction check mechanism that is quiet and effective. The check is completely silent - the perfect stealth fly reel. They are designed for 4 and 5 weight rods. Our Click Check Kit can be easily added to these reels later if desired. The Silent Check Reel can be used in either right or left hand retrieve.
