The Ported Aluminum Reel Kit builds a 3" diameter reel with a click check - but includes the components to setup as a silent check reel. Designed for 4 to 5 weight rods but can be used with a 3 weight as well. The reel can be used in either left-hand or right-hand retrieve without modification.

Details

The kit includes parts with all structural holes pre-drilled, all aluminum parts are pre-tapped, and the reel frame and spool plates are precision cut and ported as wshown in the photos. Assembly requires a few simple hand tools and materials:

• 8″ half round smooth file
• round needle file
• 1/8″ flat bladed screwdriver
• # Philips screwdriver
• 1 sheet each of 220, 320, 400, 600 and 1200 grit sandpapers
• a bench vise or small (4″ to 8″) handscrew
• Permanent marker
• brass polish
• rags
• Blue Loctite™
• light machine oil
• a self-tapping steel machine screw is included to tap the Delrin spool hub
