Here is the first of our new Special Edition series of reel kits. Only 25 of these Special Edition kits are being produced. 

The combination of brass and black Delrin™ spool plates has been a popular request from our customers and lends a 19th century appearance with the performance of modern materials and design. The kit features ported black Delrin side plates and solid brass frame, pillars and reel foot, and includes a click check. Additional components are provided so you can build it as a silent check too. This 3" diameter reel is designed for 4-weight lines and rods but can be used up or down a size too. The reel can be used in either left-hand or right-hand retrieve without modification. The completed reel weighs 5.7oz/162gm unported.

Details

The kit includes parts with all structural holes pre-drilled, all brass and aluminum parts are pre-tapped, and the reel frame and spool plates precision cut, and the spool plates ported. Assembly requires a few simple hand tools and materials:

• 8″ half round smooth file
• round needle file
• 1/8″ flat bladed screwdriver
• # Philips screwdriver
• 1 sheet each of 220, 320, 400, 600 and 1200 grit sandpapers
• a bench vise or small (4″ to 8″) handscrew
• Permanent marker
• brass polish
• rags
• Blue Loctite™
• light machine oil
• two self-tapping steel machine screws are included to tap the Delrin spool hub
